Polynesian motifs wrapping around the shoulder, black bands around the arm, modern tribal with sharp lines: tribal tattooing is one of the oldest forms of tattooing. At TATTOO ON MOVE, Tof and Flo both work in this style, each in their own way.

What makes a tribal tattoo

• Polynesian: motifs made of symbols, waves, scales and points, assembled to follow the shoulder, chest or arm.
• Solid black: large black areas and clean lines, readable from a distance.
• Modern tribal: fine, sharp lines, in points and curves, that accentuate the body.
• A piece made for one area: the motif is drawn for the shape of the body it covers.

How a tribal project works

A first visit to the tattoo shop is necessary: the tattoo artist looks at the area to be tattooed, because a tribal piece is drawn for it, and together you estimate the price and the time to book. Quotes are not given by email.

The design begins once the deposit has been paid, at least 30% of the price of the tattoo, deducted from the price. It is shown to you on the day of the session, and changes remain possible. The minimum price for a tattoo is €80.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Polynesian tattoo have a meaning?

In tradition, each motif carries a symbol. Tell the tattoo artist what you want to express: they will create the design with you.

Can an old tribal tattoo be covered?

Come and show it to us at the tattoo shop: the tattoo artist looks at what is there and tells you what is possible: extending it, reworking it or covering it up.

Does solid black hurt more?

Filling a large area takes more time on the same spot. The tattoo artist can plan several sessions for a large piece.

What happens if I need to cancel?

The deposit is not refunded if the cancellation is made less than 48 hours before the appointment. So please let us know as early as possible.
