Ornamental and dotwork tattoo

Ornamental tattoos, dotwork and mandala in Carpentras

Ornaments that follow the spine, a mandala on the shoulder, patterns laid down dot by dot: ornamental tattooing dresses the body like a piece of jewellery. At TATTOO ON MOVE, this is Flo's territory, at the Carpentras tattoo shop.

What makes an ornamental tattoo

  • Dotwork: the pattern is built from thousands of dots, more or less tightly packed, which create the shadows and the light.
  • Mandala and geometry: symmetrical shapes that radiate around a centre, or repeat along an arm.
  • A design made for the body: the piece follows a curve, the back, the spine, the sternum, the hand, and moves with it.
  • Black, above all: the effect comes from the contrast between the dots, the lines and the bare skin.

Who tattoos it with us

Flo, in Carpentras, has been a tattoo artist since 2020, holds a degree in archaeology and specialises in the Middle Ages. How an ornamental project works

A first visit to the Carpentras tattoo shop is needed: Flo looks at the placement, because an ornament is designed for a specific part of the body, and together you estimate the price and the time to book. Quotes are not given by email.

The design begins once the deposit has been paid, at least 30% of the price of the tattoo, deducted from the price. It is shown to you on the day of the session, and changes are still possible. The minimum price of a tattoo is €80.

Frequently asked questions

What is dotwork?

It is a technique where the design is made of dots rather than solid lines. By varying their density, the tattoo artist creates soft shadows and gradients.

Can an ornament be done on the hand or the face?

Flo has already tattooed ornaments on the hand and near the ear. These areas call for an adapted design and careful healing: talk about it at the first appointment.

Can an ornament be extended later?

Yes, a well-thought-out ornament can be continued. Tell the tattoo artist from the start: they will plan the design so that it connects.

What happens if I have to cancel?

The deposit is not refunded if you cancel less than 48 hours before the appointment. So please let us know as early as possible.
