At our shop, lobe piercings are done with a needle, which has many advantages over the gun used by jewellers:

A cleaner, less traumatic piercing
Faster healing
The option of high-quality jewellery with a flat back, which is more comfortable while healing, or classic butterfly backs, depending on your preference.

Allow 2 to 4 months for your lobes to heal completely (around 2 months for a first lobe, closer to 4 for the following ones), which makes them one of the fastest piercings to heal as well as one of the least painful.

After 2 months, you can swap the jewellery we fitted at the time of the piercing for the jewellery of your choice. Be careful, though: you should always keep some jewellery in for at least the first year. Lobes can still close up very quickly during the first year, or even longer.

Depending on the shape of your ear, you can have more or fewer piercings in the lobes before reaching the cartilage. To find out whether you can have one more lobe piercing, pop into the shop and ask our piercers. If the piercing goes through cartilage, healing will take longer and it is more a helix piercing than a lobe piercing.
