Code of ethics
This document sets out our ethical commitments to you, as well as the rules that are essential for our tattoo shops to run smoothly. It complements our Commitment and Hygiene Charter.
1. CODE OF ETHICS & THE ARTIST'S COMMITMENTS
Beyond the strict hygiene we apply, we stand for a noble and responsible vision of tattooing and piercing:
- Creation & Intellectual Property:
We are creative artists. We refuse to copy exactly another artist's custom tattoo, or a design whose rights you do not hold.
Important nuance: There is a difference between a "unique creation" and a "universal motif". A generic symbol (an infinity sign, simple geometric shapes) or an icon of popular culture remains a standard open to everyone. We do these motifs with great pleasure and skill, but we are honest enough not to call them an "original creation" or to claim them as our own, because they belong to our shared culture. - Duty of Advice & Honesty:
We undertake to tell you "no" if a project is not feasible, if it risks ageing badly or if the placement harms the look of the body. Your long-term satisfaction comes before our immediate takings. - Respect for the Profession:
We believe in healthy competition. We charge fair prices, which guarantee the quality of our sterile equipment, cover our costs and reflect our expertise. We firmly condemn the practice of illegal tattooing (at home, without hygiene), which endangers public health. - Moral Ethics:
We categorically refuse any design that conveys racist, sexist, homophobic or politically hateful ideologies, as well as any symbol banned by the French Penal Code (art. R645-1).
2. ACCESS CONDITIONS & HEALTH (Law & Safety)
In line with the regulations and for your safety, tattooing or piercing is strictly refused to:
- Minors under 18: Unless a parent/legal guardian is physically present (with ID) to sign the authorisation. As an exception, for a tattoo or piercing from the age of 16, the authorisation can be completed remotely: the minor shows the parent's original ID card (no copy, no photo), the parent fills in the consent form using the link we send them, and we call them to check that it really is them.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women.
- People under the influence: Alcohol, drugs or medication that impairs awareness.
- Medical contraindications: Haemophilia, anticoagulant treatment, heart disease, or skin conditions in the area concerned.
- Right of refusal: Access may be refused in cases of poor personal hygiene or disrespectful behaviour towards the team.
3. TATTOO SHOP RULES (Technical Area)
- No Companions: To guarantee impeccable hygiene and absolute concentration, no companion is allowed in the treatment rooms, whether for a tattoo or a piercing. The only exception: for the piercing of a young child, a parent goes into the room with them.
- No Children: The environment of a tattoo shop (needles, products, concentration) is not suited to young children. Please come on your own, otherwise the session may be cancelled. This does not apply to a child coming for a piercing, accompanied by their parent.
- Prohibitions: Smoking, vaping, eating and bringing animals into our tattoo shops are not allowed.
4. HOW IT WORKS: PROJECT, DRAWING & DEPOSIT
Quality takes organisation. The process follows these compulsory steps:
- The Meeting: A visit to the shop is compulsory to confirm feasibility, estimate the budget (see our base prices) and choose the artist.
- The Booking: No appointment is held without payment of a deposit (non-refundable if you cancel less than 48 hours in advance). You can also book online for certain slots.
- The Drawing: Creating the artwork is a job in its own right. No drawing is started before the booking is official (deposit paid).
5. OPENING HOURS
Note: These hours may vary depending on activity or unforeseen circumstances. A call before you come is always recommended.
- L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue: Tuesday to Saturday, 11am – 7pm.
- Carpentras: Tuesday to Saturday, 11am – 6pm.
The whole #TattooOnMoveFamily team thanks you for your trust and your respect.
