Helix Piercing
Helix
Helix
The helix piercing is the most common cartilage piercing.
The piercing is a little painful but extremely quick. As with most cartilage piercings, it is the healing that makes things more complicated: allow between 3 and 9 months for complete healing. It is recommended not to sleep on the piercing throughout the healing period, to avoid slowing it down and making the piercing shift. So choose to have it done on the ear you sleep on the least!
For healing, we will fit a straight bar with a ball. You can choose between 3 models:
- implant-grade titanium jewellery with a set rhinestone
- gold anodised implant-grade titanium jewellery
- implant-grade titanium jewellery, with or without a rhinestone
The placement will be chosen together with you, as this piercing can be done at different heights: quite high on the ear (the most common placement) but also lower. It all depends on what you prefer!
Once your piercing has healed, you can change the jewellery. You can then opt for:
- straight bars: many straight bars are compatible with the helix, from the most discreet to the boldest. Preferably choose long pieces that will show off the ear
- rings: the diameter depends on the shape of your ear, and we are here to advise you on sizes.
To sum up, the helix is a piercing that takes a little patience to heal but that will let you wear plenty of different pieces of jewellery, in all kinds of styles!
