Inverse Navel Piercing
Inverse Navel
Inverse navel
The inverse navel piercing is a navel piercing located on the lower part of the navel. The jewellery is then generally fitted the other way round compared with a classic navel piercing: the bigger ball at the top and the smaller one at the bottom.
The navel piercing is one of the least painful piercings, but it is also the slowest to heal. Allow between 6 and 12 months for complete healing. You will, however, feel as though it has healed long before then! We advise changing the jewellery after 6 months at the earliest, if healing is well advanced. You should avoid swimming in lakes, rivers and jacuzzis during the first month.
Like all surface piercings, it needs to be protected from snagging to avoid the risk of rejection. A piercing is said to reject when the skin holding it gets thinner and thinner until it disappears completely.
When it comes to clothes, be careful at first with high-waisted trousers and tights. If you feel any discomfort, change your clothes or cover it with a dressing made from a gauze pad and medical tape.
It is a piercing that suits every body shape. It can show off a lovely stomach, but it can also draw attention away from scars, stretch marks or other insecurities.
