The cat eye piercing is a surface piercing located on top of the cheekbone. It is done with surface jewellery. A bar passes under the skin, and only the two balls at the ends are visible. Depending on the size of the jewellery, the gap between the two balls can be wider or narrower. When you want to change the jewellery, you generally only change the balls.

The placement will be chosen by the piercer according to your tastes and the shape of your face. It is always marked with small pen dots so that you can see the exact placement and confirm it before piercing.

As with all surface piercings, you need to avoid snagging it so as not to risk rejection. A piercing is said to reject when the skin holding it becomes thinner and thinner until it disappears completely. So take care not to snag it too much.

This piercing heals in 2 to 4 months, which is fairly quick for a piercing. Although it is not painless, it is one of the least painful piercings.
