Health & safety
Our team follows the basic rules of hygiene, in particular by strictly following public health recommendations. Single-use products and equipment – “one per client” – are preferred.
MANDATORY HYGIENE TRAINING
#Art. R1311-3 of the French Public Health Code #Order of 12 December 2008 (JO 26/12/2008)
Anyone carrying out tattooing/piercing techniques that break the skin must have completed training in hygiene and sanitation conditions, lasting a minimum of 21 hours spread over 3 consecutive days. This training comprises a theoretical module and a practical module, and may only be delivered by an accredited body. Only holders of a doctor of medicine degree (DE) or a university diploma (DU) specialising in hospital hygiene are exempt from this training.
HYGIENE AND SANITATION CONDITIONS
# Art. R1311-4 of the French Public Health Code
#Order of 11 March 2009 (JO 20/03/2009)
Tattooing/piercing must be carried out in compliance with the general rules of hygiene and sanitation, in particular the following two: - equipment that penetrates the skin barrier or comes into contact with the client's skin or mucous membranes, and the direct supports for that equipment, are either single-use and sterile, or sterilised before each use; - the premises include a room reserved exclusively for carrying out tattoos/piercings.
This technical room, dedicated to tattooing/piercing (to the exclusion of any other function), must be fitted with floors and worktops in smooth, non-porous materials, and with washable, non-textile surfaces.
A hand-washing area, inside or adjoining the technical room, includes in particular a basin with a non-manual tap. Finally, the premises must include a space dedicated to cleaning and sterilising equipment (*) and a room dedicated to storing waste (DASRI). These sanitary requirements for the layout make tattooing/piercing at home (meaning at the client's home) unlawful.
Tattooing/piercing at the tattoo artist's home, or in a private tattoo shop (by appointment), is still possible provided the premises comply with the sanitary layout standards. The conditions relating to the equipment used and the premises, the preparation of the area to be tattooed, the sterilisation protocol for equipment.
All these rules must be absorbed by professionals during the mandatory hygiene training, completed before starting any activity.
If all the equipment used, which must be sterile, is single-use (including items such as tips and grips), an autoclave is not necessary. Nevertheless, it is important that a room is dedicated to storing single-use equipment in good hygienic conditions (source DGS January 2010) The TATTOO ON MOVE tattoo shop accepts no liability for the work carried out by its service providers.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
For your safety, we do not tattoo or pierce:
