For this design, I drew inspiration from Mesoamerican culture, more specifically that of the Maya and the Aztecs. During their classic periods, these different civilisations often depicted flowers. I built this drawing on those depictions, while respecting the code of the sacred Maya numbers:
Four, for the sides of the field.

The whole piece is done in dotwork, like the ritual art sculptures and many engravings found around the world.
