## Trash polka and blackwork tattoos in the Vaucluse

Deep black, strong contrasts, raw images, sometimes white on black: trash polka and blackwork are styles that don't go unnoticed. At TATTOO ON MOVE, it is Tof who tattoos them, in his two tattoo shops.

## What defines these two styles

- **Blackwork**: an all-black tattoo, with large solid areas, silhouettes and sharp contrasts.
- **Blackout**: an area completely blacked in, on which a design can then be added in white.
- **Trash polka**: born in Germany, it mixes realistic images, splatters, thrown-down strokes and lettering, in black, sometimes with a touch of red.
- **A raw look**: the design embraces its graphic, spontaneous side.

## How a project works

A first visit to the tattoo shop is necessary: you present your idea and your images, Tof looks at the placement, and together you estimate the price and the time to book. Quotes are not given by email.

The design begins after you pay the deposit, of at least 30% of the price of the tattoo, deducted from the price. It is presented to you on the day of the session, and changes are still possible. The minimum price of a tattoo is €80.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can blackwork cover an old tattoo?

Black covers a lot, but every case is different. Come and show the old tattoo at the tattoo shop: Tof will tell you what is possible.

### Can you tattoo white on black?

Yes, on an area that has been blacked in and healed, as on several of our pieces. Talk about it at the first appointment: it is planned over several sessions.

### Is trash polka always red and black?

That is its classic form, but the style also comes in all black. The design is decided with you.

### What happens if I have to cancel?

The deposit is not refunded if the cancellation is less than 48 hours before the appointment. So let us know as early as possible.
